Monday the 8th??

Watching the feeds live on the Apple WWDC, then gave up. I like Leo Laporte. Even more now that my cousin is the president of Twit. (Go Dane!) But it was talking heads. Even on another feed that promised live coverage it was talking heads.

So back to MacWorld where the coverage is typed in, you have to refresh the screen, but it is good. The talking heads will be doing this for days after the event on what they hear today. Apple could solve this problem by just publishing the live video feed, but that is too much to ask.

This weekend we had another meeting of the Brea Borders group and I read the beginning to chapter 12 of Space Mine, where the President arrives for an impromptu visit. It is one thing to think about how hard space will be, when we actually really start to work in it. But I put it in perspective a bit. The president of course wants the project finished so he looks good. But as he interacts in the environment he will see just how hard it is to say that the project only needs three months. What about eating breakfast. We are trained to lift that glass of juice. Use our hand to spread the butter with the knife in just such a way. On the moon, that goes out the window because the gravity is less. What about cooking those eggs. Cracking an egg will need to be retrained.

We had a new member join us and hope she comes back. Adding a whole new dimension to our group.

In any event for today I have already done 1600 words, this month the goal for weekday writing is 1500 words. Finished the editing of Chapter 2 of Graces and now have to type them into the computer. Finally got all caught up on the backlog of Forbes.

I spent some of my weekend time on Time Commanders and my new website. I now have 4 of the first 16 battles up on line. That is there are 25 battles total to be placed online, and the first 4 of the first season have their pages all done. There are several pages that go with each battle, and a lot of video, including support video from other sources, not just Time Commanders

I also spent a great deal of time, digitizing for my parents.

Sunday the 5th

Today was adventure day with Cheryl which also means fight day.

Is it me, or is Starbucks really Stupidbucks? We go there, when we go there and spend a lot of money for something really cheap, so we are giving away our bucks stupidly? Not only that, but they had this add for a a coffee and a coffee cake. But since they were out of the low cal, they could not substitute a leaded coffee cake that sells at the same price. And then there Tall, glass of coffee is there smallest glass of coffee. Did they not learn english? Are they not an american company? Is Tall the smallest in any language besides Starbuckese?

So I am a Stupid for being sucked in to the Starbucks. I have done my best to avoid them, and doubt that I shall really give them a great deal of money.

A, I don’t have that kind of money now,
and
B I think that fads are something I tend to avoid.

So yesterday was fighting with RCT, the game and where the files were hiding and why I couldn’t access them. Got that fixed, and also fighting all day with iPhoto. Got that fixed. Spent more time on the Websites and got My Siteto work better. Added a second page even though there a lot of extras displayed, I will be making them as the week goes on.

Deedira urged me to submit my manuscripts and so I contacted Wytherngate and McBooks and this time, so far Wytherngate has now taken the first three chapters of Colonel Fitz…

I still need to write something and use MacJournal more. Will be doing that during the week when I get back to my daily writing. Tomorrow it is more writing in Graces of Brantley.

Saturday April 4th

It was writers group today and had a long talk with Deedira. Liz and Anne were no shows. I outlined the forum and the Website so she could take advantage of it.

Came home and still am fighting with iPhoto and with RCT3, but have gotten ETW to work.

April 3rd

Getting ready for the BreaBordersWritersGroup tomorrow. I even went and reserved a www name for the group, it is BreaBordersWritersGroup.info surprisingly enough.

I then also posted the Prologue to Graces of Brantley this am. I did so to WritersPub, which can be found here: Writers Pub from Mariner Software If I don’t get feedback of any worth there, I shall have to chalk it up to the people who go there not really being a writers group. We shall see.

I have some work to do on the websites. I am having a button problem on the website I am using to be the repository and link for all the sub sites. On Brea Borders I have set up pages for each of the members. We’ll see how that goes.

I think we are ready for the Graces of Brantley synopsis.

A world where the descendants of the families that served the temple of Vesta (Vestal Virgins), high born have an affinity for magic, most predominate in the female line.

Two sisters are great Duchesses and one has an heir, the other has only a male heir without magic and he is gay and has no desire to have a daughter. His sister ran away years before with the estate gardener and her child crosses paths with the great grandmother and is brought back into the family just as the evil that the magical ladies defend against rise up once more.

Was able to add to Graces. Did some spell checking on it, and then added more to the 3rd chapter. Goal is to finish that during April and work on the 4th chapter also.

April 2nd

Today I finished Chapter Seven of Space Mine, another 800 plus words.

This frees me up to start work on the next goals for a while. I am not sure what I want to work on, Probably the third chapter of Graces.

I did a lot of work on the Rollercoaster Tycoon Site yesterday:

And think it is ready to put up for all to appreciate. Anything new will be additional and refinement work.

I also worked more on my review pages and have it pretty well going.

For the synopsis today we have Colonel Fitzwilliam

I always liked this character, Darcy’s cousin and I have always liked Kitty from Pride and Prejudice. So my what if was getting these two together.

        

Meeting at the Wedding of his cousin Darcy to Elizabeth Bennet, at first Colonel Fitzwilliam does not think a great deal of the brides sister, Kitty. But over the course of the war with Napoleon under Wellington in Spain, a correspondence between the two of them develops and they become good friends. Friendship leads something deeper and will that affection lead to marriage or will time and the separation that the war brings keep them forever apart.

April 1st

Should finish the rollercoaster tycoon page today in the first form, since just have 8 scenario guides to post.

Have written half of todays scene for Chapter 7 of Space Mine, the shag scene.

Now a half hour later finished the shag scene and just have to add the names when I return home.

And now want to give a synopsis of Cautions’ Heir.

This was a regency that came to me just less than a year ago.

I wrote the entire first draft in under two months. Several thousand words a day.

The brother of a very wealthy man dies and he, denied wealth for so long, gambles it all away in an instant. He leaves a daughter and his estate and the daughter fall into the hands of the son of a man who also had lost a fortune but has spent the lifetime of this son rebuilding his wealth. Thus the son is frugal and now does what he can for the woman who is thrust upon him.

March 31st

Was able to get the chapter writing for Space Mine out of the way this am. That feels good. If I did this full time, i should be able to go through a few thousand words a day. I know during the creative surge I had last summer I was able to do that and that was working also.

Intend to clean up the items I accomplished on the website yesterday. I used Photoshop Elements for making the circular buttons for the web pages that deal with the scenario guides and I have the Amazon Affiliate status set up now. I have to clean up a little on the home page for that. Then maybe work on the reading List also.

I still have to finish putting in all the info from the small park competitions, such as the pics from the entrants, and I have to finish putting the scenario guides all online.

For the synopsis of a book, today is Amnesiac Cowboy.

        

This is a completely Tongue-in-Cheek story of a man who finding himself without a job at the same time his great uncle leaves him with the largest cattle ranch in Colorado, journeys out to take it over. He meets a china man who teaches him Kung Fu like a Carradine, he picks up a gun and always shoots true and can pick out a spade from a hundred yards. One of the local tribes chieftains is a classmate from Harvard and they are sitting on mineral wealth. The other tribe is bloodthirsty and he saves the heroine from their clutches. As many stereotypes as I possibly could fit, all done to make you laugh out loud.

March 30th

Today there will be some writing on Space Mine and work on the Rollercoaster Website. I signed up to be an Amazon Affiliate so perhaps one day this will bring in some money.

The website is getting better and has more depth so hopefully one day it will be a good part of the Rollercoaster Tycoon Community.

As far as writing goes, this week it is concentrate on the Space Mine story and finish up the chapter. I had done very well the beginning of last week when I was writing the first part of the chapter. But the emergency trip to Vegas killed writing for the last half of the week.

Space Mine is the working title and it will need a better title as we finish the book.

        The premise is that in the near future, about 30 to 40 years, the world is passing the USA by, but the USA still has vast resources of talent that it sees a goal to put to use. Doing so brings out more terrorists against the USA however. So a goal to get the USA back on track as a world leader, doing things to benefit the world where its enemies wish to stop it.

        

The premise revolves around a massive program to turn the moon into a city that smelts the mineral wealth of the asteriods and then transships them to Earth. Getting this online is difficult and I try to address those difficulties, political, military, social so that it seems believable and science fiction at the same time.

March 27th

We had a crisis come up.

Cheryl has a good friend who was just widowed and so we are going out to Las Vegas to attend the funeral and support her.

Did some editing on the web site yesterday while making arrangements, but no writing.
